um...where's the dungeon?!

Ok so for today I have a variety of things that I need to put down here. First off I posted a couple weeks ago a picture of Eyan and how he had gotten half undressed in his sleep. Well yesterday I go to get him out of bed and he had done this! Crazy kid...
I don't know how I am supposed to keep clothes on him when he is a teen ager, when he won't even stay dressed when he is a baby! Now onto more serious business...

My sister Dawn sent out an email about Meth. It had a slide show on it about the effects of Crystal Meth. Needless to say... it's very good and it makes me sick. I am TERRIFIED to have my kids grow up. This drug is very scary and it's not even just this drug! Anything, drinking and even smoking I am terrified that my kids will be involved in that! There are so many things that are going to affect our kids! And that's just now! What will be in their roads in 10-15 years when they are in high school! I can't even grasp it. I think I am going to lock them up in their rooms and never let them out into day light. Or I think maybe put a little chip in their heads so that I can track their every move!!
Drugs are just the tip of the ice burg! What about dirty rotten GIRLS!!!:) I am a girl and I remember flirting with guys... don't tell me you didn't do it!! Kevin and I were watching a show the other day and Kevin asked what I would do if one of the boys came home with a girl that was... um... not exactly covered.... I said I didn't know but I am sure I would have a hard time not throwing the girl out!!! And then locking my son in his room for the rest of his life.
AND... have you seen a teenager drive?! I personally wasn't a very scary driver but I can remember some ( Rachael, Nicole... maybe Kendra?) :) just to name a few! But we are girls we aren't very crazy... Kevin and his friends were nuts! How can I let my teenage son go for a drive when I know he's going to be goofing off with his buddies! AHHH... I"m gonna go nuts!! Over Thanksgiving some of the boys went to get movie tickets... in my head they are still like 10 and I watch them drive off!!! I'm sorry but how the heck do you deal with that?!
So, I have come up with an idea... we should all pitch in and we can build some kind of home for them like Alcatraz! Only we would need 2, one for boys and one for girls! We have to save them from themselves!!Ok I know, I know this is crazy talk but you seriously can't tell me that it doesn't scare you! I guess the only thing we can do is teach them correct principles and hope they make the right choices.
But seriously... anyone want to go in on it with me?! :) They need a hero!!!
Now... I am off to read my book about a teenage girl being kidnapped by a murderer...

I am with you about the whole kids growing up freaking out thing. It's a good thing we have the gospel! It is full of hope. don't get me started on the drug thing. I've taken care of patients that come in high and have totally gorked their baby.

It's all got to work out somehow!

Oh Brit....you are outta control! Now I'm being a hypocrite..again... I have had all those thoughts a million times, and I don't even have kids yet! Just don't think about it.....if you can.... :) Think happy thoughts...good friends, active church members...return missionaries...fully clothed lds girlfriends...temple marriage...SEE THE LIGHT! :)

Hey baby girl, I didn't mean to scare you. SORRY! :( Also I agree with your friend, we have the gospel. I think it is very normal what you are feeling. I have many, many times.
P.S. Thanks for the scrapbook info and Heather's number! :)

It can be scary if we think too much about it! I've been trying to just enjoy the moment, since they are going to grow up and not want to hang out with us all the time (sad thought). Anyway, I have to agree with these other wise people about having the gospel in our lives to help our families.

In response to Rach's comment I think she paid less attention when driving than I did, haha... I think about how scary the world is right now also. It is such a scary thought about raising children in a rough world, but we made it ok. I think Camille said it all in her comment.

Brit, I have 2 little boys and the same thoughts cross my mind every single day. The whole drugs thing isn't as scary, because I believe that if you are educated about the dangers (as a mother and father) and the 2 of you talk to your boys about it, and watch careful for the warning signs for drug use, you will be able to deter the boys from that. As far as crazy driving, that is my biggest fear!!! My husband was in a terrible accident with him and his crazy friends when he was 19 and 2 of them died. Jeff was the only one who survived, but suffered a serious brain injury. Luckily he was able to recover, but he still feels the effects sometimes. I don't know how to get past that one...we will cross that bridge when we get there, all of us together!!!

By the time our boys are old enough to drive there will probably be so many advances in technology that we won't have to worry about driving because the mode of transportation will be teleporation or something like that... :)
Down with meth...
I'd like to know what "gorked" means...
A team of parents can do anything... :)

Brittney, love your comments on my blog, and by the way, yes that is a stingray! I was terrified, they all swarmed me! I must have smelled like squid or something! But on a serious note, listen to the prophets, they never talk doom and gloom, all of their messages are full of hope for our future. They have faith in our children. I guess we all need to be a little more positive. But you are right, what is out there is terrifying and more worrisome than just a decade ago. We need to be more proactive in our family. We need to be more involved in their activities and school work, but we know we have help from a Heavenly Father who loves these children. Keep your head up and your spirits high! I love ya Britt, take care.

Brittney, You make me laugh! You are so cute. Our kids WILL make mistakes but we just love 'em more.
